Remembrances of Robert Piazza

Bobby, you are still in my memories to this day. I'll always miss you. See you on the other side. Semper Fi

I stopped by Pinelawn National Cemetery to visit Bob's grave a couple of weeks ago  After all these years, I finally stopped by.  At Calhoun Bob was a wonderful friend and a great, if misunderstood, all around person.  I have no idea how I met Bob, but we worked out and hung out together all through high school.  I remember Bob fighting some huge older guy when I messed with the girl friend, it was a little embarrassing, but I loved Bob for it.  Bob always wanted to be a Marine and he joined.  I remember how hard it was to talk to his parents after Bob was killed in Viet Nam.  I wish that Bob had made it back like most of us, but . . .  Bob, I still miss you.

I served with Pfc Robert Gary Piazza at Khe Sanh,  Vietnam 1967-1968. Pfc Piazza was killed the first of three days taking a knoll just below hill 861 on 4/6/1968 with G-Co, 2nd Bat., 26th Marines.
We lost many Marines KIA and WIA.

God bless you,
